Critic's Review
Mr M's has had a sandwich shop in Dania Beach for 30 years, and now they've opened another one. Since I can only eat bread on my cheat day; a sandwich was on my mind. When I got inside, I was kind of surprised. The shop on Stirling is pretty nice; it's almost like a diner inside. This one is much different. They do, however, have their signature big menu behind the counter.
But the room itself looks unfinished; like a new apartment with a bunch of chairs and a TV just to make it livable until the furniture arrives.
They have everything here: Deli Sandwiches, Subs, and Philly Cheesesteaks. I ordered a 9" Philly with peppers, onions and provolone. I did take out; it took an awfully long time to make the sandwich. I got it out to the car and opened it up.
It looked a bit different than most cheesesteaks, mainly the way that the cheese was melted. The bread was nice and soft.
Unfortunately the meat was unseasoned and the sandwich was very bland. The peppers were the kind that were made like 4 days ago so they no longer tasted like peppers. For the amount of time it took they could have made them fresh. A disappointing sandwich. Not terrible, just not what I was hoping for.
I'd gotten a very good Italian sub at the other location; I think they're competent here. They just need to season the cheese steaks a little better.
