Old Florida Seafood House

In the heart of Wilton Manors is the Old Florida Seafood House, one of those leftover, aged places that has so many wildly different reviews that you can't make head or tails of the place. I thought of trying the place, but have never pulled the trigger.

The reason it's raised some interest is because it's undergoing a change of ownership, and the new owner is non other than Andrew Dan-Jumbo, the former star of Take Home Handyman. Andrew's career came to a crashing halt after being arrested twice in Buffalo, NY., even though he was cleared of all charges. Apparently he's been living in Key West.

No word on whether he can cook, but you can expect renovations to be part of the move forward.

is it going to re-open? I had a sick feeling in my stomach the day I heard it had sold. I wish they hadn't changed a thing. Maybe Bobby will open it back up??

that place was doomed the day Bobby sold it. It's truly a shame to see an excellent restaurant like Old Florida go under due to the incompetence of new "management."

Yes it is fixed up but it is no longer the seafood restaurant it was.It is now a sports bar of some kind as there are probably 20 tv sets around the place. Our service last night was not good as we had to ask for everything, bread, water refills. The food was pricey and not at all what it was.No conch in the chowder, seafood in a white sauce that was terrible, some kind of potato that was supposed to be french fries. The experience will not be repeated and we are local people so I dont look to seeing this place around very long.

I am a friend of Andrew's and yes, he can cook. I hope that this endeavor is one of prosperity for him.
