Zero web presence for Juanita's, that replaced Mozzarella's at this location. Let me know if it's closed or open.

Review of Mozzarella's 11/5/13

Mozzarella

Someone from this place contacted us and claimed to have bought Una Pizzeria and opened a new place name "Mozzarella". I found no evidence that a change of ownership had been filed, and no Fictitious name filing under this name. But sometimes people just don't follow the rules, so my curiosity drove me to check it out. I also noticed that the owner put my picture up on Urbanspoon, which ticks me off. Don't people know that you can't just take other people's work and claim it as your own? Stop it please.

From the outside, the place looks EXACTLY the same as it did before, with generic signage. Inside,, it was the same as well.

Mozzarella inside

Also the same as before. Ok, so maybe they just bought the thing hook, line and sinker. I order a slice; they try to sell me on the 2 slices and a soda deal, but I really don't want and 800 calorie lunch. It took a long time; longer than it should take to heat up a slice. Finally it's ready: $2.12.

Mozzarella slice

If you've ever had pizza before, I don't need to tell you what's wrong with this. It certainly had a lot of cheese. The slice is littered with black burn spots; a sign of an oven that hasn't been cleaned. It's not terrible tasting, but it lacks coherence. The cheese seems independent of the crust.

Upon folding the slice, which is the proper way to eat a slice of pizza, the cheese just rolls up in the middle. I saw a bunch of crusts with sauce on the counter; I think what they do it pre-make the crusts and then throw some cheese on it and heat it up. Not your usual pizza.

i'm not 100% sure it's the same people as before who have just renamed their restaurant, but what are the chances of having 2 consecutive owners who have no idea how to make a pizza? Seems remote.

Not terrible, but I won't be back. Their license expires in December so we'll see what they do. You can't just rename or sell a business without telling anyone.
