Critic's Review
Doc's is an old time hamburger stand that's been around for as long as anyone can remember. They have all of the fast food favorites; hot dogs, hamburger, Gyros and ice cream, and also have fish sandwiches such as blackened dolphin. It's one of those businesses that have never quite evolved; they don't take credit cards, have no web site and there's no printed menu. The problem with Doc's is that its the go-to place in town if you have a bunch of kids, so it's very busy on weekends and there are kids everywhere.
There is no "inside" here, so when its really hot you'll be exposed to the elements if you "eat in".
To me, the food here is a shade above fast food; not McDonald's but maybe Hardees. Everything is served in the standard, fast food foil wrappers, and don't try to get a burger prepared to order.
I'm not sure I'd get a Gyro here; but it's the only place you can get a foot long hot dog in Delray Beach.
As with most places like this, it tastes a lot better at midnight after you've had a few pitchers of beer. So beware of reviews from such adventures. I can't get excited about waiting 1/2 hour for fast food.
Their attempt to expand into Boynton failed; this concept is pure nostalgia.
