Description

Happy Tommies is closed, which was predictable on the day that they opened. What's interesting is that they're auctioning off the contents of the restaurant; all of the equipment, the ovens; everything. This makes no sense to me; a licensed business is worth much more than auctioning off the pieces; they had it advertised at $69K

Original Content

This is NOT A MISPRINT. Someone is taking over the old Slice Pizzeria, which gets a new owner every year or so, and they're calling it Happy Tommies. A Tommie is an English Soldier, or maybe it's something else.

More Canadians with big ideas. Pizza and Salads.

So they got about $7500 at the auction and now there's a partial restaurant missing sinks, stoves, fryers, mixers and appliances. Seems to me it would be worth more as a turnkey restaurant.

My guess would be that if someone bids on the entire restaurant, they'll just cancel all of the other bids. Their terms are very sketchy. They figure nobody will sue over a $200 item. Hard to believe broker is doing this.

They're probably just fleecing the City. They don't even have For Lease signs up anymore even thought the whole center is empty. They're too busy spending our tax money to worry about this area. Meanwhile there's a useless park filled with homeless people and it's not even safe to go into the Library. It's a disgrace what's happened to this block.

Despite the 4 5 star reviews in a year, this place is up for sale. It was up for sale for $50K last year; now asking $79K
