Upon entry it looks about the same as Publix; A bakery to the right sporting the same ridiculous $3/loaf price for bread (bread costs about 25 cents in ingredients; less for a big operation). Their produce was similar also; they have sour oranges here which are hard to find elsewhere.
They had one area in the back corner where they had some interesting seafood items; vacuum packed clams and mussels, and even a variety pack that would be handy if you were making paella or seafood soup or pasta. Pretty cook idea. I bought some clams; buying fresh clams requires that you use them right away, so this might be useful next time I made myself linguine with clam sauce.
The big problem with the store is that it's under some sort of weird construction. Half of the aisles are empty and there's stuff all over the place. Worse yet is that none of the employees know where anything is. They're doing a lot of stupid things; I saw some crackers over by the paper good. Who's going to look for it there?
Fish prices are quite low; not the best looking fish, but priced WAY below places like Pop's or Fish Peddler and Finster Murphy's.
They even had Java Chip ice cream, the flavor that was discontinued and then brought back due to popular demand.
I had another stop so I didn't buy any. The problem with Albertson's for me is that it's pretty far away and I don't want ice cream melting in the car.
Albertsons will no longer be in Florda
It is open late every night, and is open during EVERY holiday.
