Critic's Review
This place was Tara Thai before it was Sheila's Conch and Wing, and now it's back to Thai.
It's a smallish space. They close at 3 for a couple of hours so don't get here late.
I ordered from the parking lot because sitting in my car with my Harmon Kardon sound system is better than sitting on a chair in an Asian restaurant. It's a good thing too; it took a full 20 minutes for them to slap together Red Curry Takeout.
Cold overly sticky rice like you get at a Chinese take out place, and pretty standard looking Red Curry Chicken.
The $10.95 lunch comes with "Soup of the Day", which appeared to be Miso with Tofu. One taste and in the garbage. Just a reason to charge more, IMO.
Not spicy at all; my main complaint about this is that it was a bit too chunky. I don't want to have to use a knife to eat something like this, so the pieces should be bite site. Even some of the chicken pieces were too big for single bite consumption.
All in all, not bad, but nothing remarkable about it either. Light on the Chicken for the prices. Don't expect any leftovers.
Conclusion
Two sushi places went under on this street (Sushi By The Sea and Tara Thai), so you have to question the idea of opening another one. The "We can do it better" is a tough call in a neighborhood where the gray hairs line up for the Early Bird Special at Zuckerello's. There's no foot traffic here and with Thai Spice up the road a nicer restaurant and less expensive options around the corner, I'm not sure that this is such a good idea.
