A man convicted of murdering a woman in her Davie home made a daring escape Friday from the courtroom in Ft. Lauderdale.
Death row inmate Dayonte Resiles, 21, bolted from Judge Raag Singhals fourth floor courtroom around 9:30 a.m., shedding his jail uniform and cuffs in the hallway as he fled. The courthouse was immediately placed on lockdown.
The Broward Sheriffs Office said Resiles was last seen wearing a white T-shirt and black shorts.
CBS local got this kind of wrong; the escapee is a murder "suspect" who was waiting for a hearing on whether or not he would face the death penalty. Nevertheless, reports say that his might be armed, but be aware.
Four accomplices have been arrested for helping the suspect, but Resiles has not yet been apprehended.
