Asian corner 1017

What hard times are these when you can paint a building with a big ugly mural on a building with no ramifications. They're taking orders online, but the place still has paper over the windows and certainly doesn't look open for business.

Sushi Thai is coming to this broken down neighborhood where they couldn't sell $5 pizzas. I wonder if they know:

1) The previous venue failed to obtain a 2COP because it's too close to a school
2) There'a an outstanding code violation for an un permitted door

This place looks closed to me; this dude tried the door at 4:30 and it's just dark inside.

Just for reference, these guys ended up paying over $2500. for a permit for the painted mural on the building. They thought they were saving money on a sign. The Roast Beef people paid about $400 for their sign.

I'm astounded by this city. Where dimwits rave about $5 tacos and $13 poke bowls. It's like a 3rd world country.

If you havent noticed there are alot of people in Fort Lauderdale who want to enjoy themselves and not worry about what the actual food costs wholesale. if you dont like the prices just dont go there. Like with clothing, houses, cars, jewlery, etc... customer always has the choice which is nice, right?

Paying for nice things is fine, but in Fort Lauderdale we're paying NYC prices for bad food cooked by kid chefs and service is the worst of any place I've ever lived. Every restaurant that opens charges prices like it's the best restaurant in the city. It's ridiculous.

It's unfortunate that spoiled Milenials with no sense of value make it hard for people with an actual sense of value to "enjoy themselves" by continuing to pay any price for their enjoyment. People who own homes and cars and who have families to feed don't get to "enjoy themselves" because a bunch of bartenders and busboys who don't pay their fair share of taxes on their unreported earnings don't mind paying $15 for a hamburger. It's difficult to enjoy yourself when you think you're being cheated.

I'm not quoting the wholesale price; fish is only $12/lb retail so 3 oz of "sushi" is only about $2. retail. The fact that dopes like you think it's some higher quality of fish because you heard it on facebook is part of the education process of reading reviews by people who know more than you do.

What if restaurants only catered to the super rich. Not just Morton's and Council Oak, but all of them? What if YOU couldn't afford to eat at 80% of the restaurants because they only served Kobe Beef and $200 bottles of wine? Not everyone can afford to pay $25 for lunch.

At least this place will survive. As long as people are willing to pay $15 for $2 worth of food.

It appears someone has complained about this "mural", but because of the hurricane, there's a moratorium on sign violations. Of course the reason for the moratorium is that a lot of businesses lost their signs in the hurricane, so it allows them to put temp signs up while they're being replaced. Of course that shouldn't apply to this place which didn't have a sign when the hurricane hit.

"I wonder if they know..."

Here's a thought; what if you inform the owners instead of everyone on the internet. I imagine it would take the same amount of time

So the owner's are supposed to rely on a Critic-Reviewer to do their due diligence?

Some idiot indeed!

It's public record. If you sign a lease without checking such things, you're a moron.
