Another nothing burger hurricane misses Fort Lauderdale. Isaias moved a bit west and we barely got strong winds last night. It's now essentially past us; It looks like it's going to miss Florida altogether and hit the Carolinas on late Monday.
update 8/1/20
The models continue to tighten; it looks like this one is heading for Daytona; We'll have a very stormy Sunday. At 1pm on Saturday it's sunny and calm.
The models seem to be moving into agreement that this storm is going to move just to our west; we're on the "good side" of the storm; the majority of the wind and storm surge are on the right side.
If this model holds up we'll likely see a couple of windy, rainy days. I think it will be like Matthew, which was pretty much a non event. We'll check to models in the morning, but usually once the models all agree they tend to be pretty accurate.
Update 7/31/20
We're going to start feeling Tropical Storm Isaias soon; probably late this evening it will start to get windy. The current tracks have the storm a bit off the coast; we'll see where it is later in the day today.
Currently there's a 30% chance we'll see tropical storm winds of 40Mph or higher; and there will be a lot of rain. Clear a space in your living room for your patio furniture.
A Hurricane Watch has been issued for areas north of Deerfield Beach on the Florida Coast.
