Ok, we don't review fast food. But, McDonald's is becoming a player in the specialty coffee area, and I own quite a bunch of their stock, so I thought I'd make an exception.
I haven't been in a McDonalds for 10 years, and I'd heard about the "McCafe"s, so I was brimming with anticipation to see the changes they'd made. I walked in and, alas, from a physical standpoint, nothing has changed much. The only difference is that you can order fancy coffee instead of just "small or large". I ordered a latte, and started looking for the sugar. But they don't put it out; you have to ask for it. They did have splenda, which was unexpected, so not so bad.
I don't like super hot coffee, so I popped it in cupholder and headed out to hollywood beach to take some pictures. By the time I parked it was a good 20 minutes. I opened the coffee top and it was still plenty hot; just about right. I have to admit, there's really nothing wrong with a McDonald's latte. It was smooth and semi-bold. For $2.25, its a pretty darn good deal.
