Critic's Review

Borojo is a new Colombian restaurant in downtown Hollywood. Its set up like a take-out place, and has a very sterile feel, with white walls, orange and black chairs and no decorations. They have 2 plasma TVs; the lights are off. Its very dark in here.

Sometimes you just know when a place is destined to fail. Surely they know that they have a menu that most people aren't going to be familiar with. They have too many items on their menu, and too little explanation of what it is. I decided to to get the ChoriPerro; which I surmised was a Chorizo hot dog. There's some blabber on the menu about salsas/condiments which I assumed were included. I placed my order and paid $6.10 and waited. I wasn't asked about salsas or condiments or anything. There is no condiments table so I couldn't get my own. I was given a tied up bag with a styrofoam containter.

Chori dog

I was a bit surprised when I opened the package. It didn't look like a hot dog to me. I saw a sausage and 2 pieces of what looked (and tasted like) styrofoam. There was no salsa, no condiments. The menu says mozzarella cheese, Potato Chips and Bacon. Where the hell is that stuff? There's nothing worse than when a customer has a negative reaction when they are served their food or when they open a take-out bag. This is just incompetence by the Borojo people. There's no way that someone ordering from their menu would be satisfied with what was given. Particularly when there were no options presented. My guess is that business is bad so they're scrimping on the extras; which is the beginning of the end for any establishment. You don't garner new business by cheating people.

Whatever it is, I predict that they're out of business by next fall. They sure aren't getting any more of my money.
