Formerly Shark's Fin, Arjan's is a small storefront that served burgers, salads and wraps. It's very small inside, with a small counter and a couple of tables. There's a really big TV behind the counter, which seems to double as an office. The kitchen in this place is twice as large as the front area.
They bill themselves as "Home of the Shish Kabob"; they only have one on the menu. The board out front for lunch prices them at 8.99 for 1 skewer and 11:99 for 2. The sign says that for $1 more you can get lamb; but they don't have lamb. I'm not sure why they didn't wipe it off the board as it's handwritten.
I asked what cut of beef they used; the counterperson had to go into the back to ask. "Sirloin" he said. I wasn't convinced, but I ordered beef anyway. It took about 10 minutes to wait. The TV had nothing useful on; I don't think I'd want to eat in here. Finally they brought out the bag and I was on my way.
They get a C for presentation; they give you a choice of a salad or rice; they could have given less rice and just given both. The kabob was done medium as ordered, and they also gave me some sort of russian dressing. It was a little bit spicy; I'm not sure how it fit in.
The meat was nicely spiced and it had a really good flavor. I think that $8.99 is too much for this at a place like this. Loading the tin up with rice didn't really fool me.
Arjan's has added burgers to their menu since our last visit. Half pound "Gourmet" burgers are $7.95.
