Where to Watch the World Cup in Fort Lauderdale

This article is out of date, take a look at Where to Watch Football for more info on area sports venues.

The World Cup is back, and when the US is playing you can expect every bar and restaurant to be showing it, as there isn't much else on this time of year. To watch other games, you may have to find a sports bar; here are a few of the choices:

Duffys

Duffys is the best sports bar in Fort Lauderdale. Its big and the food is good. Even if its totally packed you'll be able to see the game from anywhere you happen to be standing.

Royal Pig Pub

The Royal Pig is the best "scene" bar to watch the Cup; it's mostly upscale wannabes; cleaner and better dressed than by the beach, and it's not technically a sports bar. But they have a lot of big TVs.

Waxy O'Conners

If you simply must watch the game with a bunch of foreigners, Waxy O'Conners will be packing them in. They have good food and an authentic Irish Pub feel. You may have trouble finding parking as their lot is small and they get big crowds to watch soccer games.

Bokampers

Bokampers is the new kid on the block. It's a big shiny new building on the water and it's a Mecca for watching sports. It's owned by Kim Bokamper, no surprise; you won't find it packed with screaming South Americans, and the food is awful, but it's the place to be, at least for the time being.
