Review 8/4/10 Grady's Bar
In the words of Bill O'Reilly, Grady's Bar is a dump, is a dump, is a dump. Just a few blocks from Las Olas and the Riverfront, walking into this place is like a trip back in time; and its not a pleasant journey.
The outside "porch" is bad enough. When you open the door; it gets worse. The place is dark. Its like an episode of the Beverly Hillbillies. The place reeks of smoke; everyone who comes here is a smoker. So how can they serve food in a bar full of smoke? Maybe the authorities stay so far away from the place that nobody knows? But I wouldn't eat in this place for free. Do they have good chili and pretty good food? Yes. But its purely take out; if and only if someone else picks it up.
Partnered with Mr Nicks, this is perhaps the dumpiest block in downtown Fort Lauderdale. Grady's has been around since 1940 and it may be around a lot longer. But its no place for tourists or anyone else evolved enough to know better.
