BurgerFI in Lauderdale By The Sea opens for lunch today, Saturday Feb 5.
David Manero, the man behind Vic and Angelos and The Office in Delray Beach, is opening a Gourmet Burger restaurant in Lauderdale By The Sea. Manero hopes to create the next great burger chain; he's offering franchises nationally.
BurgerFI is short for "Burgerfication"; in fact Manero has applied for a trademark on the phrase THE BURGERFICATION OF THE WORLD".
BurgerFi will open to the public on Monday February 7, featuring a BYOB (Build Your Own Burger) bar with 20 topping and hand cut fries. Manero seems to be trying to cash in on all of the latest crazes; BurgerFI will offer "humanely raised, vegetarian beef, Chicago style beef hot dogs, frozen custard and cupcakes.
