Critic's Review
I wasn't intending to eat lunch out today, but as I was driving around I noticed that Taco Grill had opened in the space momentarily occupied by Cheesesteak Experience. I figured I could try a taco.I went in and picked up the menu, and they only have pricing for 3 tacos. "Do I have to get 3 tacos?". He said he could sell me individuals, so I ordered a skirt steak and a chicken. $5 even. My math is pretty good, so it appears to be cheaper by the taco than in 3s.
The cook guy threw some meat on the grill and made the tacos. I just let him make them as I waited at the counter.
I wasn't asked if I wanted anything; no lettuce or cheese here. He hands me the package and I go back to my car.
When I got home, I opened them up. Just cilantro and raw onions and a thimble of salsa and sour cream.
I tasted the meat from each taco; both the chicken and the skirt were well seasoned. I folded up the skirt taco and gave it a taste; it exploded on first bite.
The taco shell wasn't very good, so I just tossed them. I ended up putting the meat and the salsa in a bowl with some of the sour cream and cheese and made a "Bowl" out of it.
Nothing special here. They have grilled cheese also. Can you see me yawning?
Conclusion
Tacos and grilled cheese on this desolate street; seems to me about the same level of idea as the Cheesesteak people. It's a small place with little ambiance; it's hard for me to believe that there's enough traffic down here for them to do well. There's nothing special about the tacos.
