Description

Since opening, they've eliminated their lunch menu (they have some lunch specials but nothing substantial). and they've raised their prices about 10%. This has to be the only brunch anywhere without a Benedict on the menu.

-------------------
In between the cornfields and empty lots emerges a shopping plaza; anchored by an iMax theater and Burt and Max's Bar and Grille. Why anyone would want to come out here; the virtual frontier of Delray Beach, I can't say. Currently, there's nothing here. Whoever designed this deserves to be stripped of their license; this center is a disaster. The parking is angled in a strange way, and there's hardly any room to drive even with no cars. This center is going to be a complete disaster when and if it ever get crowded.

As for the restaurants; Another day, another restaurant by Burt Rapoport and/or Dennis Max. They're now open for dinner only; they have a lunch and brunch menu on their website but they're not yet open for those meals.

Why these 2 needed to collaborate to clone another ho-hum South Florida menu is beyond me, but *some* people over 50 seem to think it's just peachy that they are. The menu is just about the same as every other restaurant in the area. They've "borrowed" the same 10 for 10 concept used by Tryst, Prime and Deck 84; and get this; you can get 1/2 Tuna Sandwich for only 10 bucks. Just how far have we fallen?

The formula here is simple; build an attractive restaurant, hire a Culinary Institute of America grad as "chef", and charge the same as the highest priced restaurants in Broward/Palm Beach. $15 for a bacon cheeseburger or $28 for a skirt steak. Brunch includes such culinary innovations as crab benedict, belgian waffles or a 3 egg no-meat omelet for $10. They've posted some picture of food on their facebook page; I wouldn't want to eat anything I've seen posted.

Another great restaurant for people who usually dine at Appleby's. What we have here is Deck 84 for people who live out West.

Why do they have lunch and brunch menus when they open at 5pm?

Not being 90 and trying to make a reservation, has become a labor of hate. If the only times available are 5:30 or9:30, I can do withouth this place. Get real, there are people here ho eat 7:30 to 8:30 PM. In the weeks that this place has been open I have heard nothing by 5:30 or 9:30PM. I will pass for now and the future.

Really find the rather snide remarks about this Marketplace catering to "old people"..There are many new homes being built out here that are NOT senior housing...Why is it so many resent the fact that many of us who
LIVE here all year round want another place to go to besides traveling downtown on Atlantic Avenue which caters to Yuppies and young people? You can't park, the restaurants are always too crowded? Give this place a chance before you criticize it....

Have you seen all of the old bats posting on their facebook page? Who else would pay those prices for that food?

ThOse old bats helped bring up your parents or maybe grandparents. they may have sacrificed a lot to educate you.

Perhaps, but they also know nothing about food. They took us to Sizzler and Rustler and ate brown lettuce at Beefsteak Charlie's. So if "they" like it, it don't mean a thing.

Why would anyone want to live out in the cornfields where the only restaurant is an overpriced Burt Rapoport restaurant? The point of the site is to provide commentary and insight. Waiting a year for it to be a disaster doesn't provide people with the info they're looking for today.

I've been there and readers haven't. So I provide my impression and we can see how it pans out.
