Description

Now Closed. "Relocating" is the Canadian word for Out of Business

Giannelli closed

The Sunfish Grill is done, and yet another Italian restaurant will be opening. Sicilian oven is opening in Michele's old space, so there will be like 8 Italian restaurants from US1 to A1A 33rd Street Area.

More Canadians have made their way to Fort Lauderdale; Thursday's on Las Olas will be opened by a Canadian, and Franco Giannelli and Harry Sikellis of Montreal are opening here. They've owned a place in Montreal, Due Compari Al Barolo since November 2014.

Drove past yesterday the sign is off the building. Wonder who's going to try next ?

Well for starters the owner, Franco would take the waiter's charged tips and use them to buy groceries and supplies for the restaurant because he had legal problems here in the states and could not get a line of credit or tax ID number....VERY illegal. He also took an equal cut of all cash tips as pay for himself claiming, "run all the food and take many of the orders"

This place closed last year, so it seems unlikely.

This place continues to be a marketing disaster. No FB page, and their website is on the old sunfish grill address. Spend $50 dudes and get with the program.

You can tell by the pictures they have on the web site that they don't know how to sauce italian food.

Menu is up. It looks like they're just slapping a slgn on the place, which is surprising since the place was pretty run down.

Another place with Las Olas prices on Oakland Park Blvd. Menu is in both English and French for all of you Fort Laudedaleans who only speak French.

Nothing here I can't get at 5 other places in town.

I think there's more. Nick's, Lucca, Scolapasta, Martorano's, Santa Lucia, Sicilian Oven, La Dolce Vita, Tony D's and this place. That's 9. Not counting the 3 Pizza places.
