Critic's Review

Fat Boyz BBQ is open; Sort Of. I just had BBQ at Jenkins last week, but they have pastrami here.
I walked in and realized that they just bought the place from Elliot Wolf; everything was the same. The place didn't even look open, or like an actual restaurant. There was 1 booth occupied in the back, and a girl sitting in the rear.
You have to go to the rear of the bar to order. I just ordered a pastrami sandwich. $12. with no sides. They have one of those big screen they swing around for you to sign where you can choose the tip and sign with your finger. No Tip is one of the choices.
"Boogie Wonderland" blares on the sound system. The bad projector screens are still up, but nothing is on. They even re-purposed the Red Cow logo on the wall by pasting a sign over it.
It took a few minutes for the sandwich to come out. I grabbed the bag and out the door.
I looked in the bag and opened the container. No napkins, mustard, sauce in the bag. Nothing. Just the white container.
Pastrami on a Kaiser Roll. Something new. Luckily I had a loaf of Rye bread. I tasted the meat and it didn't really taste like pastrami. Very lean. Some people like it lean, but not me. Better than too fatty however.
I loaded this onto rye bread and lathered some Gulden's mustard on it. As a bonus I had some garlic dills brining that were just about ready to eat. Nothing like a 3 day pickle.
The sandwich wasn't bad; the meat was good but it didn't taste like pastrami. Smoked meat. Not worth $12 of course.
Conclusion
My experience today convinced me that these people have no idea how to run a successful restaurant in Eastern Fort Lauderdale. I couldn't wait to get out of the place just waiting for takeout; there's no chance I'll ever eat in here. If Be Nice couldn't make it here, there's no chance these people will. Expect a mid-summer panic.
I also didn't like having to provide my own rye bread and mustard. Shoddy Operation.
