The former bootleggers, the new owners have destroyed everything that was in an effort to cash in on their prime location. The only thing that remains is the Sunday bikini contest, which is more of a show as its fairly clear that the girls are paid. The "contest" is hosted by a vile DJ from a local radio station, who thinks that calling the audience "bitches" is funny or cool; I'm not sure which. They've caved to pressure from Shooters and abandoned their short-lived $10 cover, but now you can't enter with a drink and they'll make you buy one to get in. Families are no longer welcome (no kids). Seedy biker types have been replaced by fat old men with cigars. There are dancers on raised platforms in silly clown-like outfits. There's a sparkler show that has people covering their eyes in fear. Its really quite unbelievable. They advertise a 3pm contest, and it starts around 5pm. At this time of year, the finals are in the dark (and there is no adequate lighting). There's no band, just bad club music and lot of people sitting around sipping overpriced drinks and waiting. The best spot in the house is in the covered bar area, where you can watch football and all of the silly people on the pool deck.
Just want a bottle of water to re-hydrate. Forgetaboutit. $6.
