Critic's Review

Mojo is a new restaurant across from Jack's Hamburger House that has been the home of several places that nobody ever went to. I had no idea was the space was like; it looks like an office building from the outside. So you might be surprised when you walk in.

Mojo bar

There's a loungy aspect to the place.

Mojo wide

There's a central bar area flanked by dual dining rooms; the bar wraps around into the larger room where there's also a stage.

Mojo dining room

The white vinyl chair cushions are comfortable; the place is decorated with colorful artwork. Its a very visually appealing place.

Mojo Buffet

I attended an event and they had a buffet; unfortunately most of the food was off menu so I can't directly correlate it to food at the restaurant. I'd give the buffet food a 'B' rating; Conch Fritters were pretty good; "philly cheesesteak" was an odd version; with little if any cheese and bread that was too hard.

Mojo food

An oyster slipped into a pastry with spinach and cheese was tasty but personally I'd rather have it on a cracker; another in the group disagreed. The shrimp and crab wonton, which is on the menu; was just 'ok' to me. Another in the group had 3 platefuls of them.

As for the ambience; its a bit too girly for me. I would take a date there; but I wouldn't go in on my own or with a bunch of guys. While they have 3 TVs in the bar area; they're more likely to be showing cooking or Seinfeld here than ESPN; its just not my kind of place.
