Anthony McDermott Dead at 48

On December 23, 2015, Anthony McDermott, former owner of Riley McDermott's restaurant (currently Grille 401), died at 48 years old.

There are currently no details as to the circumstances of his death; One unconfirmed report was that he died of a heart attack in a NYC cab. Anthony was a victim of Scott Rothstein's escapades when McDermott claimed that Rothstein was "stealing" his restaurant. Rothstein subsequently partnered with the Bova Group and the restaurant was converted to Bova Prime.

McDermott's linked in profile says that he was living in Tampa, FL, and he'd recently started a new business in August 2015. McDermott was a pioneer in Internet sales lead generation; in 2007 he sold his company, SWI Digital for $38M. He subsequently used the cash to open his dream restaurant named after his son, Riley McDermott's, in downtown Fort Lauderdale.
