Description

Another day, another bunch of people trying to lose all of their money re-opening the infamous Neighborhood Sport Bar. The last venue here tried to do a Rocco's Taco's type Mexican restaurant and that failed within a year. Now it's back to sports.

With 4 cars in the lot on a Saturday afternoon it doesn't seem to have caught on yet.

Some history on this place; 10 years ago this was the "Neighborhood Sports Bar" and it was literally the only Sports Bar in Boca. This was before Duffy's started opening everywhere, and before everyone had Sunday Ticket. The place was where everyone went; with a legendary Wednesday ladies night where ladies ate for free. On Sundays you could watch sports and late afternoon the local Jewish chicks would roll in decked out in their evening wear.

But now there are a lot of other choices; bottomless brunches have sucked up the dopey millenial crowd on Saturday and Sundays, and many more restaurants and bars have lots of TVs and the Sports Packages. And Boca isn't a big sports town to begin with. I used to come up here once in a while to watch Giants games; there weren't any sports bars in Fort Lauderdale in 2007 before Duffy's opened.

Whoever is handing their promotions is totally incompetent; they post the same thing every couple of days and don't respond to questions.

The other problem is that in a non-sports town, Football Sundays are your entire business. And there's only 17 weeks of Sunday Ticket.

Add that to the fact that nobody knows it's re-opened (or maybe it's reopened so many times that it's because a real Yawner. I've gone back for 2 of the re-openings. Unless they have a good special, I won't be trying it this time.
